The Kainardzha municipality is situated in the eastern part of the Danube Hilly Plain. Its territory is 316 sq. km. It borders the municipalities of Silistra and Alfatar (the District of Silistra), Kroushari and Tervel (the District of Dobrich); and Romania (by land).The municipal centre - the village of Kainardzha - is 29 km southeast of the district centre Silistra.There are two monuments in the municipality - the Monument to Freedom (in the centre of the village of Kainardzha) and a monument to Dimitar Donchev - "the Doctor", a worker of the Dobroudzha revolutionary movement. |
