Balchik A town and seaside resort, situated on a small bay on the Black Sea, 30 km North of Varna, having a Population of 13 500, and very impressive sea views from its terraced houses cottages and villas.

The Touzlata area is located 4 km east of the town and is well known for its curing mud. This spa-centre was built here between the two lakes, formed by old landslides. The lake bottom is covered with black hydrogen “sulphide peloiid” Patients suffering from joint disorders often take the curing mud.

A recreational complex, with many of villas, bungalows and a nice camping site is built here. A natural mineral spring with water temperature of 31 °C can be had for all to enjoy. Near Balchik are the two big camping sites - Sandrino Camping and Belia Bryag Camping. Many opportunities for rest and water sports, clubs, bars, numerous accommodation for tourists are available, small restaurants and stalls for sea and continental food are in easy walking distance.

There is regular bus transport from/ to Sofia, Dob rich, Varna and Albena, Also taxis and private mini-buses can be easily had, during the summer season boats and water transport to other beach resorts on the Black Sea are a wonderful way to travel.
